History & facts

Moldavite is a green tektite formed about 14.8 million years ago when a meteorite impact melted and scattered rock across the Moldau (Vltava) River region of Bohemia. It was used in the Stone Age as talismans and amulets. Genuine moldavite comes only from the Czech Republic.
