The white background in the photos is our photo backdrop, not part of the frame.

The Giant Jewel Beetle, also called the Giant Metallic Ceiba Borer, is the largest jewel beetle in the Americas, reaching up to about 3 inches long. Its metallic green and copper wing covers are structural color, and the two dark spots on its back look like false eyes. The Lubber Grasshopper is a large, heavy-bodied grasshopper from South America, shown here with its fan-like hindwings spread.

Ethically scavenged: all of our butterflies and insects come from an insect sanctuary in Peru. Once they pass away naturally, they are gathered and framed - no creatures are harmed for these pieces.

Please note: each specimen is a natural, one-of-a-kind piece. The photos show a representative example of these species, and the specimens you receive may vary slightly in size, coloring, or pattern from the ones pictured.
